The Career Based Intervention program helps students with barriers to career and academic success, improve academic competence, graduate from high school, develop employability skills, implement a career plan, and participate in a career pathway in preparation for post secondary education.
During the related instruction, students learn to solve problems and think skillfully, communicate effectively, apply technology, work responsibly, plan and manage a career and manage resources and careers.
CBI students develop academic, leadership, and employability skills through participation in Knowledge Bowl Competitions. Work-based learning is also a component of the CBI program.
Students are typically involved in a paid cooperative work experience, but are also given
the opportunity to participate in an unpaid work experience that reflects their long term career goal if different than what the paid work experience offers.
