Office of Curriculum and Instruction


The Office of Curriculum and Instruction is entrusted with the challenge of leadership in developing, implementing, and accounting for the district’s educational programs in order to meet the challenges of a global economy. As a part of this process, the department provides leadership in the areas of curriculum, instruction, assessment, professional development, technology, and instructional leadership. The office oversees the district and building improvement process and administers the district’s state and federal grant programs.

The Mad River Local School District is committed to the success of our students and providing them with a skill set necessary to thrive in an ever changing world. In order to lead the district in achieving our OIP goals and continue growth in student achievement, the Office of Curriculum and Instruction has established the following mission and goals: 

The Mission of the Mad River Local Schools Office of Curriculum and Instruction is to increase student achievement by providing effective instructional leadership and high quality professional development in support of all stakeholders.

 The Office of Curriculum and Instruction strives to…

  1. Provide leadership in designing and implementing the district and building OIP plans.

  2. Effectively meet the needs of all stakeholders through positively, outstanding customer service.

  3. Help raise the hope and trust of the district by maintaining expenditures within yearly budget limitations.

Standards Guides for Families

The Standards Guides for Families highlight some skills your child should know and be able to do at each grade. They are based on Ohio’s Academic Content Standards.  

Ohio's Instructional Management System (IMS)

The IMS is the Ohio Department of Education's resource for lessons modeled after the state standards.

Ohio's Success Website

This web site serves as a starting point for tools that can help in understanding Ohio’s statewide assessments for the Ohio Achievement Tests (OAT) and for the Ohio Graduation Tests (OGT).


PARCC

This is a link to the new testing system that Ohio will be using to replace OAA and OGT beginning in the 2014-15 school year.
