District Remains Effective on State Report Card -- Four Years In-A-Row!!
Overall District Performance
The Mad River Local School District continued to improve during the 2008 – 2009 school year as evidenced by earning an “Effective” rating on the state report card for the fourth straight year. During the 2008 – 2009 school year, the district earned its second highest performance index score to date while meeting Value Added for the second straight year. These two standards are significant as they measure improvement both within the district (performance index) and progress compared to districts around the state (value added). In addition, the district maintained a high attendance rate (95%) and achieved its highest graduation rate in history (89.9%).

Areas to Celebrate:

  • Mad River Middle School met Adequate Yearly Progress for the second consecutive year and thereby moved out of school improvement status.
  • Four schools including Beverly Gardens, Brantwood, Saville, and Spinning Hills exceeded the requirement for “Value Added.” The district and Stevenson Elementary both met this requirement.
  • Both Beverly Gardens Elementary and Stevenson Elementary earned “Excellent” building ratings.
  • Five of our seven schools met Adequate Yearly Progress in 2008 - 2009.
  • Our elementary grades earned every indicator on the state report card.
  • Overall district growth in math continues.
