The Friend of Education Awards Program honors people or organizations that have made outstanding contributions to public education. Each year the Mad River Local Schools presents Friend of Education Awards to honor individual outstanding contributions. The awards recognize people whose service has been in one of these four categories: Distinguished Service, Co-Curricular Activities, The Arts/Technology/Vocational and Education. Members of the community are invited and encouraged to nominate people they feel are deserving of these awards.
Nominees are judged primarily on the significance of contribution to the well being of education in the Mad River Local Schools. Nominees can be individuals, groups and may be district employees or community members.
