Saville Elementary is located on Burkhardt Drive at the eastern edge of Riverside. The building and grounds are well maintained and currently accommodate kindergarten through fourth grade.

Saville has experienced teachers who work together to provide a positive learning environment for students. They attend workshops and graduate classes to remain informed about the latest educational techniques. They bring these ideas back to the classroom thus providing students with opportunities to be successful. Students participate in Accelerated Reading, Everyday Math, 4 Blocks and other programs to meet individual needs.

Title I Reading and Math teachers work with students in small groups or in an inclusion model. Academically Gifted, SLD, Music and Phys. Ed teachers also provide support for students and correlate their programs to regular instruction. A part-time support staff includes a nurse, counselor psychologist and speech pathologist. The building also houses a multi-handicapped unit, with some students being mainstreamed into various activities.

Technology is important to the instructional process. Equipment is constantly updated to meet the needs of the current curriculum. Every classroom is equipped with computers and the Computer Lab provides an environment for whole class instruction.

Students work in a variety of group settings and enjoy a wide range of experiences. They are encouraged and provided opportunities to develop skills and do meaningful work. Special projects include artist in residence, theme based culminating activities, assemblies and a variety of other experiences.

The Saville PTO plays a role in the educational process. They provide volunteer services and financial resources for assemblies, enrichment activities and materials. Parents are an extremely important aspect of a successful school. Their support and involvement is essential.
