• science Stebbins High School Science Department is one of the few schools in the area to offer students the opportunity to participate in the PLTW Biomedical Sciences Program. This program is a sequence of courses in which students explore the concepts of human medicine and are introduced to topics such as physiology, genetics, microbiology, and public health. Students also explore the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disease, and work collaboratively to investigate and design innovative solutions to modern health challenges. The four courses offered in the Biomedical Program series include; Principles of Biomedical Sciences, Human Body Systems, Medical Interventions, and Biomedical Innovation. Throughout these courses, students acquire strong teamwork and communication practices, and develop organizational, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills and investigate a variety of careers in biomedical sciences.
