Dear Parents and Community Members:
Our goal is to provide you with all the information you need for you and your child(ren) to be successful in school. Improving academic achievement is an essential objective of our school district. Over the past several years, we have continued to update and revise our curriculum to reflect the rigorous changes in national and state standards. Mad River students deserve the best to be prepared for the new challenges ahead.
The District Report Card, issued by the Ohio Department of Education, records many of the achievements of our students and staff, but is not an exhaustive document. For the past several years, the state of Ohio has changed the way they report on local schools. The Local Report Card has changed. The assessment that is given to students has changed. And the way that students are given the assessment has changed.
The District’s report card issued by ODE is only ONE measure of the progress of Mad River Local Schools in educating our students. Many other indicators of success also exist that are not included in the Report Card. We believe our Quality Profile captures many of them.
The Quality Profile is intended to showcase additional measures that families value in a school system, but are not part of the Ohio Department of Education's report cards. The Quality Profile includes important information about the ways in which we invest each and every day in our students. The Quality Profile is an accountability report designed to give our community members a transparent view of our District and provides insight into the overall educational experiences our students receive.
I invite you to review our Quality Profile to learn about our students' scholastic achievements as well as their talents in the arts, athletics, leadership, and across a vast array of extracurricular activities. You will also find information about the district's excellent fiscal stewardship and our community's engagement with our schools.
Thank you for investing in our schools and community! Together, you can be sure we are making a difference that will pay dividends and ensure a bright future for our most precious resource – our students.
Sincerely,
Chad Wyen, Superientdent of Schools
