Principal's Message
The mission of Mad River Middle School is to build students’ future success through relationships, purpose, and perseverance. Everything that we do at Mad River Middle School is considered through the lens of our mission.
We use Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) to teach students the Indian Code behaviors of Respect, Responsibility, and Integrity. During this school year, we are going to go above and beyond in recognizing our students for exhibiting the Indian Code behaviors to create a positive learning environment where students are inspired to do their best.
Staff members will have the ability to recognize students on a daily basis by awarding a Tribe Ticket for showing Indian Code behaviors. Students will turn those in for a weekly drawing. The PBIS committee has been hard at work planning some amazing quarterly incentives for this year. In addition, we will be recognizing students of the month and athletes of the month.
We will continue the tradition of You Inspire Me, which is a unique opportunity for staff to write letters to students who inspire them. Each quarter, staff will have the chance to surprise these students by bringing them to the office and then reading their letters to them. Students receive a treat that they can enjoy during lunch. This is always a memorable moment for staff and students alike.
I encourage parents and guardians to take an active role in their child’s education. There are many ways to be involved from connecting with your child’s teachers, staying informed on grades, providing a quiet workspace at home, attending sporting events, and chaperoning when there is a need. I welcome your support.
I encourage open communication, so please reach out with any questions, concerns, or comments that you may have.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Krystle Gleason
