Hola y bienvenidos a español. Me llamo Señora Hamil y soy su profesora de español.
Hello and welcome to Spanish class! My name is Mrs. Erin Hamil and I am your Spanish teacher this year. This is my seventh year at Stebbins, and I have also taught in northeastern Ohio prior to moving to the Dayton area. I have taught Spanish levels 1, 2, and 3, and this year I am teaching levels 1 and 3. I am a graduate of the University of Dayton and have studied in Cuernavaca, Mexico and Madrid and Salamanca, Spain. In addition to my studies at UD and abroad, I spent one year living and working as an Americorps volunteer in Los Angeles where I worked at a shelter for women and children who were survivors of domestic violence. My studies and travels have made me very passionate about Spanish language and culture and learning about my world in general. I love to travel, meet new people, try new things and learn as much as I can. One lifetime will never be enough for me to learn and experience everything I am curious about! I hope to share this enthusiasm with you.
Learning a foreign language will open many doors academically, professionally, and socially, and I am very happy you have decided to learn a new language. I promise to you that I will always come to school ready to give 100%. If you do the same, you will learn Spanish and have a great year in class.
