Exercise Science


    Prepare for careers in the sports medicine and exercise science profession, including as an athletic

    trainer, physical therapist, physical therapy assistant, occupational therapist, occupational therapist

    assistant, personal trainer, exercise physiologist, nutritionist and much more.


    Students will develop unique skills within this program, including a vast knowledge of medical

    terminology, anatomy and physiology, motor development and learning, prevention, treatment, and

    rehabilitation of athletic injuries, as well as rehabilitative and exercise equipment, exercise program

    development and personal training certification curriculum.


    Opportunities exist for students to earn American Heart Association’s Heartsaver and BLS CPR,

    first aid and AED certifications, as well as college credit opportunities and a $3,000 scholarship

    opportunity to Sinclair Community College.


    Program Highlights

    Students will be on a pathway that can include postsecondary training while in this program,

    including two-or-four year college degrees.


    Business and industry experiences within this program include relationships with the Dayton

    Sports Medicine Institute/Kettering Health Network and various other health organizations.


    Internships are made available to students on an individual basis and can include opportunities

    in adapted physical education, athletic training, physical and occupational therapy and more.


    Students enrolled are eligible for a $3,000 scholarship to Sinclair Community College

    upon successful completion of the program.
