SHS Athletics Update for Winter Sports

SHS and MRMS Athletics Update for Winter Sports: Effective 12/3 until further notice

The pandemic we face has no doubt changed our way of life. High School and Middle School athletics is no different and as such we are mandated to follow Ohio Department of Health orders. For the health and safety of our student-athletes, spectators, and community, only parents or legal guardians of our student-athletes may attend specified winter events as outlined below. No visiting team parents or legal guardians will be permitted to attend athletic contests held at Stebbins High School or Mad River Middle School. All spectators must maintain the social distance requirement of 6 feet, wear a mask at all times, and respect the guidelines of the school. If spectators refuse to follow the health and safety guidelines set by the district, including wearing a mask, they will be asked to leave the event and will not be permitted to attend future winter sports events during the 2020-21 school year. Furthermore, spectators may not congregate with others at any time during the game. By following all orders and guidelines we can give our student-athletes the season they have longed for and dedicated so much time and effort in preparing for.

Lastly, given the limited seating due to state capacity orders, we ask that spectators please depart immediately following the student-athletes contest. This allows us the ability to prepare the facility for the next event and allows us the opportunity to admit other spectators to enter and watch their loved ones compete.

Updated MRLS Seating Limitations for Home Athletic Contests: Men’s and Women’s Basketball: 2 tickets will be allocated per basketball player for parents or legal guardians only. 2 tickets will be allocated per cheerleader for parents or legal guardians only.

*A list of allowable parents or legal guardians will be referenced prior to purchasing tickets. Tickets are non-transferable.

*There will be no tickets available for visiting team members.

Wrestling: 2 tickets will be allocated per wrestler for parents or legal guardians only.

*A list of allowable parents or legal guardians will be referenced prior to purchasing tickets. Tickets are non-transferable.
