  4. What is your educational background/College/Degree? Bachelors in English and a Master’s in Education
  5. What are you currently reading for enjoyment? The "Me before You" series by Jojo Moyes
  6. What do you want to be doing in five years? Writing and/or publishing a novel
  7. What interests do you pursue outside of the classroom? Writing, crafts, and reading.
  8. To what teams and/or clubs did you belong as a student? Attended the Vicky Lynn School of Dance thru middle school and was involved in the Mad River Lions Club since a senior in high school
  9. When did you decide to become a teacher, and why did you choose this field? My third grade teacher at Beverly Gardens Elementary had such a passion for teaching and made learning so much fun and I knew that teaching is what I wanted to do someday.
  10. What personal strengths do you find especially helpful in your teaching? Being able to stay calm under pressure, being flexible with every lesson plan and staying organized.
  11. What is your favorite subject to teach? Why? Inside of English it would be poetry. Poetry is something that can have so many perspectives and can be interpreted different by each person who reads it.
  12. What is your least favorite subject? Vocabulary. It can be difficult for students and finding new and fun ways to practice it can be difficult.
  13. What do you like most about teaching as a career? Being able to watch my students walk across the stage at graduation knowing I had a small part in that. It is so rewarding to see my students succeed.
  14. What is the most difficult aspect of teaching today? Being able to get students to respond with their feelings and opinion, not just giving me the “right” answer.
  15. What could a visitor to your class expect to see? I teach in a very open way. I want students to feel free to speak, ask questions. I also take the time to talk to the students not school related. I want students to feel comfortable talking to me and to have a safe feeling in my classroom for the best learning environment that I can give them.
  16. Who was your favorite teacher and why? My favorite teacher I ever had was Mrs. Beaver in third grade. She was so fun and full of life. She is the one who showed me teaching was fun and inspired me to become a teacher. I would also have to say Nancy Mack, a professor I had in college at Wright State University. She showed me that teaching is not cut and dry, and how to add fun and personality into every lesson.
  17. What is your favorite local restaurant? T.G.I Fridays
  18. What is one goal that you plan to accomplish during your adult lifetime? Write and publish a novel or some type of written work.
  19. Describe your dream vacation. My dream vacation would be on a warm beach by the ocean and close to a theme park with lots of roller coasters.
  20. Who is your hero? My hero is my sister. She is the hardest worker and a wonderful mother. She has sown me that no matter what happens in life there is always a way to fight through it and you can do anything if you want it bad enough.
  21. If you could live anywhere, where would it be? I would like to live in New England. I visited my grandfather there many times growing up and the history there is so remarkable. It is also close to the ocean.
  22. What did you want to be when you were small? I have wanted to be a teacher for as long as I can remember.
  23. If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be? Steak, mashed potatoes and green beans.
  24. What are your hobbies? I love to do crafts, read, write and dance.
  25. If you were a super-hero, what powers would you have? I would be a time traveler. Being able to go back in time and make positive changes in the world.
  26. What's your favorite zoo animal? Cheetahs and penguins.
  27. What's your favorite fast food chain? Taco Bell
  28. What was your first job? Hostess at Buffalo Wild Wings
  29. What do you like to do in your spare time? I like to do crafts, read, watch movies and watch football.
